3 Ways to Get Facebook Information Into Your Contacts

Category : Featured, iPhone, Mac, Software, Windows

In a neverending quest to keep my contacts up to date with photos and other information, I sought out three applications that would sync your Facebook contacts with Outlook/Address Book/iPhone.

Fonebook for Outlook

Probably the easiest way to get this info into Outlook 2003/2007 is to use Fonebook. You log in to Facebook from the application, and it will smart match your address book to your Facebook contacts and sync them. It will also let you add a Facebook contact to Outlook.

AddressBookSync for Mac

AddressBookSyncThis is the same context as Fonebook, but for mac. It’s another easy to use app, and it lets you customize what you want it to sync.

feX for iPhone

I have tried several iphone/facebook sync apps, and this one is the one I like the most, you log into facebook from the app, and it downloads the data and syncs it to your iPhone, this will then also sync back to Outlook/Address Book if you sync that stuff to your computer, but if you don’t it will let you keep photos up to date. feX for Facebook is $1.99 from the app store and it’s worth the price.

Facebook info to Outlook

Category : Software, Web/Tech, Windows, Work, Life, etc.

image In an effort to link up my outlook contacts to Facebook, I have been searching for an app to sync photos and birthday info. There are a couple good ones for the iPhone, but I haven’t really found a good PC client that will handle that until I found Fonebook.

Fonebook will transfer contacts from Facebook to Outlook and if you don’t have the contact in Outlook, you can add it. One of the limitations is that it doesn’t add email or phone numbers due to a limitation in Facebook, but those aren’t that hard to add manually. All in all, Fonebook is a great windows application, and I would recommend you download and try it today.

The Best Outlook Plugin Ever!!!

Category : Software, Web/Tech, Work, Life, etc.

I recently read an article on Lifehacker about a plugin for Outlook called Xobni (inbox backwards). This plugin is something that should be installed on all pc’s running outlook. The features include email analytics, useful contact cards, fast search, threaded conversations and a lot more. I really can’t explain it, but check out this video…

Now go sign up for the beta and hope you get an invite. I have a couple invites left, but It’s worth the wait if you can’t download it right away.
