Motorola Droid RAZR Review The past month I’ve had the chance to fully test the Motorola Droid RAZR. This phone is big and thin, and it’s very nice looking. I do have to say that it’s a much better phone than the Bionic, so...
Droid Bionic Review
I recently had a few weeks with the Droid Bionic and some accessories. In the spirit of full disclosure after about 4 days with the first Bionic, the device went dead because of the battery, and after...

Droid Charge Review The Droid Charge by Samsung, is a decent Android phone, but it's very underpowered and outdated as far as the Android software.

I have had a Tour for about 3 weeks now. I upgraded from the Pearl, which I had for over 2 years.
I relied exclusively on the features of the Blckberry for my business (lawyer). I use the Calendar, email (all 3 of them), tasks, boradband access, etc. The biggest problem I had with the Pearl was the small amount of on-board memory. Every few days, at the direction of my service provider, I woudl have to shut down the phone, remove the battery, and then reboot. This essentially cleared the cache, allowing my phone to run more smoothly.
Now, with the Tour, I have been “told” that the on board memory upgrade shoudl prevent me from having to do the “battery refresh”. The transfer from one Blackberry to the new one was easy using the Blackberry Desktop program. I even added one more email address (god help me)
The pros to the Tour: Faster access, user-friendly interface, FULL qwerty (NOT the touch screen epic failure of the Storm), 8GB memory card, functionability, better camera and video resolution. Blackberry platform.
cons: Here is where I get a bit nit-picky. I’ll rely on Brian’s full review to give a comprehensive Plus and Minus, but as an ‘every day’ user, here are my issues:
I cannot seem to figure out how to make sure that ALL of my information (incoming emails, applications, calendar, etc.) is being saved to the memory card. every time in plug it into my computer, it says that my memory card is basically unused. That will eventually have a significant effect on the performance considering I forward 4 email addresses to the phone.
The phone has arbitraily reset itself 3 times in the past week. I regularly update my software on my phone. it seems the most recent update caused some issues. The phone hasnt locked up or rebooted on its own in 5 days, but Im still waiting.
Suddenly, my Tour will not connect with Blackberry Desktop 5.0. not sure if it is a software or hardware issue, but I cant sync my phone up with Outlook or my other applications. Im wokring with Blackberry Tech Support (another ‘con’ in my opinion), to see if hte issue resolved. Ill keep you posted.
The keys on the keyboard are TINY. This coming from a person with statistically-small hands. I keep making typos that i never did before. it gets frustrating at times. I figured it was just part of the learnign curve, but it takes me nearly twice as long to type a message than before.
Overall, I will definately say the Tour is a significant upgrade from the Pearl and the Storm. If you are looking to upgrade from a Curve, wait for the 2nd generation or even a new model. There is no substaintal difference between teh curve and Tour to warrant the purchase; just upgrade your software.
Looking forward to Brian’s review!
